(Orange, California), manufacturer of Precision Board HDU (high-density urethane) tooling board, is emphasizing updated speeds, feeds and chip load information for CNC routing of Precision Board. While Precision Board HDU does not conduct heat and is non-abrasive, optimal chip load can be achieved using settings found on Coastal's website, ensuring Michelman (Cincinnati, Ohio), a developer and manufacturer of surface additives and polymeric binders, has formed two new partnerships with composites firms. e company will partner with Engineered Fibers Technology LLC (EFT, Shelton, Connecticut) to develop solutions for EFT's specialty fibers and high-perfor- mance composites. In addition, Michelman will work with Mafic SA (Kells, County Meath, Ireland and Shelby, North Carolina) to increase the performance and surface characteristics of Mafic's basalt fibers and their use in high-performance composites. All three companies are exhibiting at CAMX in booths P62 (Michelman), C81 (EFT) and U63 (Mafic). that heat is carried away from the cutter, prolonging tool life. ese data were gener- ated with carbide cutters, but HSS cutters also are said to perform well due to the non-abrasive nature of Precision Board HDU. Coastal Enterprises also has the unique ability to custom bond Precision Board blocks in any configuration required. With only a rough drawing of the finished part, the company will fabricate a custom block or step tool to specification. ere are samples in the Coastal booth (V51) of all 15 densities of material, both standard and high- temp PBLT.
